WHAT IS THE BLESSING HERE?

Today we celebrated the first birthday of my youngest grandchild. My daughter baked the cakes and my wife did the decorating. I remember when we first learned that little Adrianna ( I affectionately call her Peanut) would be coming into the world. It was not under ideal or the best of circumstances. I was deeply troubled when first learning of my daughters pregnancy. Little did I know that little 'Peanut' would steal my heart and become one of the greatest joys in my life! I was thinking today about the situations that arrive as challenges or even disasters and then reveal within themselves amazing blessings. The passing of comedian Robin Williams. So sad, yet more people are now talking openly about the silent and oh so often unspoken pain of depression. The explosion of Mt Saint Helen's that caused unimaginable destruction, yet years later has resulted in some of the most fertile farmland in history. If you are in the midst of challenge or even what appears to be disaster, wait, watch and recognize the amazing blessing that results.
