Guilt is an emotion often misunderstood. It's frequently viewed as an internal process with the purpose of self-punishment. Actually, it's purpose is to motivate us to take action. The first step in resolving guilt is to shift our focus onto the things for which we are grateful. This places us into an empowered mindset. The new perspective puts us in a position to correct the situation that caused the guilt, or even to begin life anew.
